Ruaille Buaille commissions
5 New Works for Children

“Lucan is a wonderfully diverse community, and it deserves a music festival that connects with and is relevant to the needs and interests of children. Ruaille Buaille is that festival, and its 2021 programme is emerging as one that is artistically rich, diverse, and inclusive.

For Ruaille Buaille 2021, five incredible musicians were commissioned to create new work to present to young audiences across Lucan at Ruaille Buaille 2021. The musicians include those who have a wealth of experience and expertise working with/for young audiences, and also a number of emerging artists who have demonstrated a keen interest in developing work in this area. The commissioned pieces represent a range of musical styles and genres, embrace cross-arts collaboration, are designed for a range of age groups, and can be performed in a variety of contexts. It is so important to support musicians in this way, and it is vital that we continue to create new work for children that is of the highest quality – congratulations Ruallie Buaille on such an exciting and engaging initiative. “
