Empower Curiosity

with Ultan O’Brien

  • Classes: 5th Classes
  • Duration: Final performance 50 minutes

  • Medium:
    Ultan (fiddle, viola) will work via Zoom with a designated 5th class to create the work as a shared experience between students and himself (the composer). The final performance should be indoors in a school hall. The class and Ultan would premiere the work. Another class could attend but this is not obligatory. The premiere would be filmed by the Festival for future online performances.

  • Date: Flexible for now

A hybrid installation and immersive performance comprising a series of stories relating to human experience and interaction with the environment. The stories will be shared through Ultan's own narration and new viola and fiddle music ("fiddle story-telling"), fixed-tape composition and projected visuals, encouraging the children to explore their curiosity about their surroundings.
