Gamelan Workshop

Gamelan is the ancient classical music of Indonesia. It is an orchestra of tuned percussion instruments including hanging gongs and metal bars. In this workshop children and adults will learn to play a traditional piece of music from the island of Java using a variety of percussion instruments, and you will learn about the history and culture of Javanese gamelan music.

    1.10 – 1.45: A visiting class to Lucan Library • BOOKED OUT

    1.45 – 2.15: A visiting class to Lucan Library • BOOKED OUT

    2.30 – 3.00: A drop-in session with facilitator Peter for the public to try the instruments (young & older welcome)

    3.00 – 3.45 – Family & friends of Lucan Library workshop. Tickets available for this event from Friday 2nd June at 3.00pm.
