Ruaille Buaille, Lucan Children’s Music Festival is delighted to announce details of an exciting new project with performers Brian Fleming (percussion) James Mahon (pipes and flute) and Caoimhe Hogarty (singer) together with the Kakatsitsi Master Drummers from Ghana.

New Music : New Songs

Inviting schools, teachers and classes to take part in the making of this project. Have a school workshop to learn some old songs, create some new songs and then hear them in a playground near you over the course of Ruaille Buaille. Any class, all songs welcome!

CLASS VISIT: Tuesday June 8th or Wednesday June 9th, Brian Fleming together with a singer will visit your class to discuss and share with you songs of Ireland and Ghana. These songs will form part of the collaboration between these musicians and Kakatsitsi Master Drummers from Ghana.

CLASS/SCHOOL VISIT: Thursday June 9th or Friday June 10th Brian will return with the Kakatsitsi Drummers where they will deliver a performance to your class or classes and also share the songs learned together.

This project is curated and presented by Artscope in association with South Dublin County Council Arts Office and funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

This Performance New Music : New Songs will premiere a full range of the music and songs learned over the course of the Ruaille Buaille week in Griffeen Park on Saturday June 11th at 3.30pm! A multicultural, crossover of music and song not to be missed with performers Brian Fleming, James Mahon, Caoimhe Hogarty together with the Kakatsitsi Master Drummers from Ghana and will also be coming to a Playground near you over the week of Ruaille Buaille!
