Visiting Ruaille Buaille
Thursday June 8th
The Irish Memory Orchestra Quartet
Ruaille Buaille is delighted to have the The Irish Memory Orchestra Quartet visit Lucan as part of this year’s festival. The only ensemble of its kind in the world, the IMO has broken down barriers by removing sheet music from the stage, thus opening access to musicians and instruments not usually found in orchestral music.
Performing as part of Ruaille Buaille will be Matthew Berrill on saxophone, Aisling Agnew on flute, Niwel Tsumbu on guitar and Aidan Dunphy on percussion.
The music in this concert is influenced by a variety of styles including traditional Irish, Jazz, Classical and African music and provides a snapshot of The Irish Memory Orchestra. This performance will also feature a variety of other pieces including Dave Flynn’s arrangement of Máirtín O’Connor’s composition ‘The Cuckoo’.
The ensemble encourages interaction and participation from the audience members, whatever the age! A great fit for a children’s music festival!
